Product Description
Many customers have asked about getting a chain conversion kit for their GV650 after seeing our Youtube video. We have offered the following kit which is a bolt on application. No welding or cutting or fabrication of any sort was needed for install. With the size of sprockets included, all chain guards fit with no modifications. This kit is intended for use with a stock OEM rear tire. You can always switch back to the original Belt and Pulley system because no modifications are made to the bike.
You will simply remove your existing belt as well as front and rear pulleys. You will reuse the hardware from the rear pulley and mounting nut for the front pulley. Next you will bolt on the rear sprocket with the included spacers between the new sprocket and hub. The front sprocket will be installed with the raised spacer side towards the engine. Reuse stock hardware to secure from and rear sprocket to factory torque. (GV650 Service Manual is available for free download on our website)
Next, mount O-ring chain. You may need a chain press tool to mount master link side plate. Included is a clip style master link. No riviting needed. Next align rear wheel as stated in service manual until chain has 3/4" - 1" of movement or play.
Kit includes:
520 O-Ring chain 118 Links from EK Chain BLACK (Made in Japan)
16 tooth front sprocket (Made in the USA)

GV650 chain and sprocket conversion
Good price and arrived in UK in 10 days. All components of good quality and correct fitting. Just had new tyres, probably slightly different to originals meaning chain ran very close to chain, machined some spacers, no great problem. Some adjustment to the belt guards to accommodate the chain, simple with a Dremel. On the whole a fantastic deal considering the money saved and the quality of the parts. I will definitely use Whygostock.com for anything I need in the future, excellent company.

Definitely worth it!
Installation was pretty easy and I have noticed better performance from my 2009 Hyosung GV650 SE. The bike is more responsive and pulls harder without losing top end speed. If you have a slightly thicker tire like myself, add an extra spacer or two on the rear sprocket. Slight rubbing on the tire should do any harm, just make sure it is not digging into the side wall!

Easy ST7 Belt to Chain Conversion
The entire kit was $100 dollars cheaper than a replacement belt and was easy enough to do in my driveway. Love the way it rides now.

Get rid of the expensive belt system
My shop had no problem installing the conversion in an hour. All stock guards were put back on with a small section that needed to be cut. Only con is the gear ratio. To keep the speedo correct the kit should be 17 front and 44 rear. I ordered the 17/46 kit. looks nice, fits nice, and quicker off the line. I'm not a racer and was hoping for lower RPM's on the highway. Hope this helps people looking for gear ratios. (We do offer custom cut rear sprocket and different size front sprockets as well.)

Good product
Kit is complete, no instructions with the kit, I had to go to this website for the instructions. The chain did rattle on the engine cover, slight interior clearance was needed. All stock pieces fit after that.

Good quality, but fits with some troubles and the riding comfort is impacted
Fitted this product on my Hyosung ST7 9 months ago. The components are made of good quality. The pack comes with some spacers (3 per bolt) to compensate the size of the rear pulley. However, on ST7 these spacers do not allow for a proper wheel and pulleys alignment. With an alignment tool I found out that the spacing should be double, which is not possible because the pulley would come out of the hub. I re-spaced the hub and the pulley as much as possible with some bigger spacers, but that was not enough and I was forced to leave the front and rear pulleys a little bit misalligned. The riding comfort is also impacted: - you hear always the chain "chushing" the pulleys; the sound may be due to misallignment, because it's not so strong after I re-aligned the rear and front pulleys. - you can feel a slight vibration when riding at 80-100 km/h (50-60 mph). Other downsides: - the distance between the chain and the wheel is too small, when compared to other chained motorcycles; this means that the chain gets some more dirt and water coming from the wheel than it should. - there is no chain-guard on the market to fit for the removed belt-guards (no, they can't be re-used, because they're made of plastic and modifying them will lower their resistance). However, my bad experience with the OEM belt and pulleys tells me that it's still better this way. I can't risk to be stuck on the road some thousand miles far from home because of a broken Hyosung belt. The chain is universal and can be found in any motorcycle shop, while the belt should be ordered from Korea.
